Art Workshops at Lea Manor High SchoolPosted: 17th July 2018
Students across all year groups worked on a project with Kirsten Jones, our Artist in Residence with some very creative and thoughtful results.
The theme of the day was 'Our Community' and students considered the things that make Lea Manor so special.
Students created a mind map and identified the words and phrases that summarise the community spirit of our school. They then made drawings of bottles and designed the contents using images sourced to reflect the idea of community, love and tolerance.
The pieces will combine to create a group piece titled 'Ingredients of our Community'
Some of the pieces are shown here along with a list of a few of the words discussed during the day.
The sketches were created with STABILO permanent markers on tracing paper.. watch this space for more pieces to be created over the next few days!
